第120回TOEIC 公開テスト速報
今日、第120回TOEIC 公開テストが行われました。
東京地方は晴天に恵まれ、テスト日和でした。
私は渋谷区の青山学院大学で受けました。

全国の受験者の皆さん、如何でしたか？
実力を発揮できたことを願います。
難易度ですがリスニングは難しめ、リーディングは標準でした。
Part I
初めの10問はやさしかった。
でも、それで油断していたら
11問目以降、急に難しくなって慌てた。
18番は聞き逃した。
屋外、芝、テーブルといす、フォーマルな服装の紳士淑女数人。
女性は座っていて、男性は立っている。
手にワイグラス。
The women are setting up the tables.
The men are standing in line for tickets.
The men are holding table cloths.
とか何とか聞こえて、どれも写真と合っていない。
「setting up the tables って聞こえたけど、
sitting around the tables だったのかなあ？」
と思って A にしたけど自信なし。
20番の港と山の写真も難しかった。
The clouds have been set on top of the hill.
かなあ？
よくあるパターンもまたまた登場。

こんな感じの写真が使われた
ケーキ屋さんの display
The large cakes are on the upper shelves.（？）
工事現場の写真もほぼ毎回使われる。
The worker is wearing a safety helmet.
put on もまた出た。
動作を表す put on と状態を表す wear の違いが
ポイントになる場合が多いが
今回は女性がいすに座っていて、
背もたれにジャケットがかかっていた。
She is putting on a jacket.
は間違いの選択肢。
put on の反対の意味になる take off （脱ぐ）
もその次の問題で間違いの選択肢中に登場。
それから音の引っ掛けでreading と leading
女性が何かを読んでいる写真。
She is leading a group of people.
間違いの選択肢。
She is reading.
なら正しい描写。
Part I は難しかった。
Part II
全体的にやや難しめ。
初めの数問はやさしかった。
出だしの疑問詞が聞き取れれば、答えが選べる問題が続いた。
その後、難しめの問題がちらほら。
質問に対して質問で返す応答が２つ。
Q: Where do you usually go to have your computer fixed?
A: Why do you need to repair your computer?
Q: What time will we have a break?
A: Are you tired?
I don't know. と I'm not sure.
はほとんどどんな質問に対しても適切な応答になり得るので
Part II でそれが出たら大概答え。
今回は
I'm not really sure.
が出た。
Part III
難易度は標準的。
初めの数問はやさしく、後半になるに連れて
難し目の問題が入ってくるパターン。
最後から2つ目の問題（？）は
How many copies of the book will the speakers probably order?
というような設問。
会話はワークショップに2人追加で参加することになったので
本を追加注文しなくはならないという話。
「２人増えるんだから、2冊だろう。」
と思って答えを塗ろうとしたら
会話が「でも、今から注文したんでは間に合わないわ。」
「10冊まとめて頼めば、エクスプレスで送ってくれるよ。
余りは次のワークショップで使えばいいよ。」
と発展し、結局答えは10冊。
どんでん返し。
Part IV
やさしかった。
設問が2つ付いた Short Talk が7つ、設問３つのものが２つ。
素直な問題ばかりだった。
話の内容もシンプルで分かりやすかった。
Part V
標準的。
語形や語彙の問題がほとんど。
文法問題が少なかった。
良問揃い。
仮定法や倒置構文など
特殊な文法を問うものはなし。
見方を変えればバラエティーがない。
同じような問題ばかり。

Part VI
標準的。
でも1問、間違えた。
…students like to eat outdoors at the tables onto the edge of the lake.
「outdoors かな？ onto かな？」
と悩んだ末、outdoors を選んだ。
s がいらないんじゃないかと思って。
でも実は outdoors 正しい。
eat outdoors で「屋外で食べる」。
副詞の場合は outdoors と s の付いた形になる。
形容詞の場合はoutdoor と s のない形で使う。
反意語の indoors （副詞）/ indoor （形容詞）も同様。
あーあ、間違えちゃった。
残念！
上の文では onto が誤り。
これは動きを表す前置詞。
ここではテーブルは動いていない。
その他、覚えているのは

から he を取る

は promptly が正しい形
researcher を research に
accommodate を accommodation に
accidentally construction problems を accidental に

やや難。
文章の数は14。
長めのものが多かった。

だったかよく覚えていないが
imply （ほのめかす）されている内容を問う問題があった。
珍しいタイプ。
大概、答えとなる情報はダイレクトに書かれている。
言い換え表現もたくさん使われていた。

… recently underwent renovation → … has been remodeled
cost of shipping → postage
A car will be made available → He will be allowed to use a car
その他、多数。
覚えきれませんでした。
