Go to BBC Learning English, listen to the report, listen again if you don’t understand, read the script if necessary, and come back.

So, what is the report about?

What do you think?

A: So, what is the report about?
B: It’s about Chrysler dealerships. The car company is planning to cut a 25 per cent of its dealerships. They have sent a letter to all the 3,200 dealers and 800 of them will lose their franchises.
A: What do you think?
B: I don’t like American cars. Japanese and European cars are better. Closing down dealerships is bad news for Chrysler dealers but if they can’t sell enough cars, it’s inevitable.
People are not buying many cars these days. That’s bad for the car industry and the economy at large, but fewer cars means less energy consumption and less CO2 emission, which is good for the environment.

経済のこと、あんまり分かんないし、英語で意見を書くのも上手に書けないけど、まずは、そのディーラーさん達、大変だねってことかな。家族もいるだろうし、これからどうやって、生活していくのか必死になってると思うなあ。
